Wallace Stone has designed and supervised the construction of a new pier at Kyleakin, Isle of Skye, for its client, Marine Harvest, and this major project is now complete. The primary purpose of the pier is to enable the importation of raw materials for fish feed, which will then be turned into product in the new on-site feedmill. From there, the fish feed will return to the jetty or slipway by conveyor for onward distribution to fish farms. The new jetty will also be used to deliver LNG, a more environmentally-friendly fuel, on which the feedmill plant will run.
