PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Design of replacement bridge for single span arch which had suffered impact damage. Single span prestressed concrete beams on concrete bank pads on rock either side of stream and gorge.

Completion – 2015

Value – £400,000

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Design of 12.5m span bridge, including about 130m length of single lane road realignment with passing place; prestressed concrete TY beams. Site visits during construction.

KEY FEATURES

Construction offline, keeping original arch bridge with temporary Mabey overbridge open to traffic; access to wind farm for maintenance.
