Provision of detailed alternative design of elements of slipway and fendering to suit Contractors preferred method of working.

PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS

  • Rock armoured rock foundation bund – 1200m³
  • Reinforced Concrete Slipway – 300m³
  • Greenheart Timber Fendering – 180l.m.

KEY FEATURES

Substitution of locally available rock fill armour for imported steel sheet piling and concrete mattresses at remote island site. Incorporation of temporary works materials into permanent works. Close co-operation between design team and construction team to achieve design improvement and project cost saving.
