KYLEAKIN FEED MILL MARINE WORKS
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Reconstruction of pier at former quarry with main pier 147m long from steel combi piles and outer berth hammerhead constructed using reinforced concrete caissons, obtained second hand from Dublin, and sunk onto a prepared foundation of rockfill. Along the original foreshore an area of hardstanding to the west and quayside laydown area together with a large slipway to the east. Piled crane beams and conveyor supports were provided for material handling equipment. Significant dredging was needed for the berth pocket.
