AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Design of piled mooring system to pontoons; project management & supervision of piling works, design of disabled access facilities; design of boat lift support system.

PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS

  • Two 18m long disabled access bridges and intermediate floating platform supported on piles during low tides.
  • 33 mooring piles of 406mm and 508mm diameter;
  • Boat lift support structure using steel beams on 4 piles.

KEY FEATURES

Piling installation required close tolerance to suit pontoon mooring brackets, maintain the line of pontoons and prevent jamming during tidal movement. Disabled access bridges provide access for wheel chair users at all states of the tide.
