FRASERBURGH HARBOUR JETTY REPAIRS

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Undermining of quay wall had led to loss of infill and settlement of concrete surfacing. Dive inspection revealed urgent repair required as large mass concrete walls had no foundations remaining. Temporary tie and support system across pier designed to allow work to be undertaken without walls collapsing; excavation of harbour bed and construction of new concrete foundations, restoring wall stability.

Site surveys and dive inspections; design of repair works; preparation of tender documents; procurement; site supervision and project management.

KEY FEATURES

Work had to be undertaken quickly to prevent collapse of wall; most of work was carried out underwater so required supervision by diving engineers.
