CANNA HARBOUR NEW SLIPWAY

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Provision of a new ferry slipway and alignment structures adjacent to existing Canna Pier. Reclamation and rock armouring and surfacing to provide additional marshalling and working areas adjacent to pier. Dredging and underpinning of existing pier to accommodate new ferry vessel.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Detailed development of design initially undertaken by Highland Council Design Unit, for slipway, berthing structures, rock armour and buildings; design of underpinning works to existing pier; specialist input to Project Management.

Robust design with mass and fibre reinforced concrete for structural longevity; cost effective solution to under pinning of existing pier at interface with dredge, sympathetic use of materials including local rock armour.
